This is a very streetable truck that will operate well in a variety of driving environments. At 65 MPH its effortlessly turning 3000 RPM, running 60+PSI oil pressure and 175 degrees. In town the massive oversized radiator keeps it cool in stop and go parade traffic. Acceleration characteristics from a dead stop are similar to a bottle rocket without the stick. Boils tires with the greatest of ease. Starts easily hot or cold and takes no special skills to operate like a normal truck. This truck has a bunch of eye appeal and generates a lot of attention everywhere you go. Could be considered show quality due to the overall condition and unique combination of little truck/big motor. A true head turner that you wont see 2 of in the same place. This is a fly in/drive home vehicle that could be easily driven long distances comfortably.
Must admit that the initial pictures of this truck sold me on it. We are not in the habit of bashing anybody on the internet: take your lumps and go on--chalk it up to experience and make the best of it. However, we got burnt hard enough that I just got to give it one little shot. Took the seller at his word on some stuff and traveled 4-1/2 hours in the rain to go see it and didnt have a chance to look it over very carefully. The punk kid I bought it from fed me a bunch of outright lies that couldnt be verified till much later, and promised up parts that were to go with the truck that never materialized. Hey, I guess it was my turn to get the shaft, but we made the truck a very nice unit after all. Ended up putting a complete 2-1/2" dual exhaust on it, had to re-wire the engine compartment and charging system, replaced sub-amature mickey-mouse backyard engineering here and there, installed a cable type downshift system, trashed the mountain of hideous blue convolute tubing on all the wiring, but it came out nice.
