This is a bone dry, rust free 79 LRE from Nevada originally. I first saw it over 6 years ago when a friend of mine bought it from the original owner in the Las Vegas area, and drove it back. Its all numbers matching and still has the original engine and trans, as well as the LRE specific parts like the chrome stacks and steps, special air cleaner and chrome lid with fresh air induction tubes, 355 sure grip and chrome valve covers. This truck has only racked up a minimal 78000 miles in its life, and can be driven as-is, if you are into the patina look. Equipped with the optional clock in the right side of the instrument cluster, AM/FM radio, air conditioning and black buckets with fold down buddy seat. Both front seats have just been re-upholstered to perfection, and the carpet is nearly new. Its been maintained along the way, as the carb had the normal problems with the throttle plates and was replaced with a new Edelbrock electric choke, and the exhaust had a couple of pieces replaced with the correct parts. Still has the convertors on it. This truck picked up a receiver hitch and trailer plug in along the way also. Tires are in very good condition.
This is a low mileage example of one of the most desirable collector pick ups on the market. Main asset is the fact that its not rusted, and never has been. Would take very little to repaint it, as there is no body work to be done. Its priced where you could buy it, restore it, and still be in it for less than its worth.
Economic stability in a collector vehicle? Sure would make you a hero around the house.
