71 DUSTER

71 Duster, VL29C1B, clean Kansas Antique title, barn find with a few upgrades.

NHRA certified 8.50 chromemoly cage (cert is expired), everything is tig welded. Stock front frame rails and inner fenders, tubular front K frame welded in, tubular upper and lower control arms, Santiff double adjustable coil overs, manual rack and pinion, race weight front Aerospace Components disc brakes and spindles. 25.0x4.5x15 Goodyear front runners on American Racing wheels. Narrowed Dana 60 with 4.56 gears, 14x32-15 Hoosiers with plenty of meat left, Aerospace Components rear disc brakes. 2x3 rear frame rails with outboard chromemoly 4 link & wishbone locator, Koni double adjustable coil overs with improved valving.

440 based 511 big block (.055 over/4.250 stroke). block was line honed, decked .002, H beam rods with ARP2000 bolts, 202 crank throws, SRP flat top pistons with .990 pins, 8 bolt crank. High volume oil pump, Mancini Racing external oil pick up, 7 quart pan with spiffy wheelie guard. 440 source SFI fluid dampner. Comp Cams 249-23-634-5 flat tappet (.650 int/.630 exh lift), matching double valve springs, double row timing chain and gears, Indy 3/8" pushrods. Indy EZ1 cylinder heads, ported, back cut valves, upgraded 10 degree retainers and locks, Indy head bolts. Indy intake that's port matched and polished. Cometic .040 steel head gaskets. Aluminum electric water pump. MSD Programmable Digital 7-Plus ignition. Powermaster 1 wire alternator. 4" exhaust with mufflers and turndowns in front of the rear end. Engine is on elephant ears and mid plate. Look closely at the engine compartment fenderwells and you can see that it has been massaged to allow a Hemi without interference. In the engine compartment it has gauges for oil pressure, water temp, cooling system pressure and fuel pressure as well as a bump switch for setting valves.

727 trans with reverse valve body, 4200 stall converter. Mark Williams axles and aluminum SFI rated drive shaft. Autometer 11K tach with shift light, oil press, water temp, trans temp and fuel pressure gauges. 5 point drivers and passengers harness, Simpson chute.

Has never been raced in its current configuration. I could tell you a bunch of numbers of what it did with a 572, but that would be pointless. I have no plans on running the car to 'see what it will do' as I'm leaving that to the next guy so he can start with a fresh outlook on it. If it doesn't run in the 9's accidentally, you need a new hobby.
